Answered questions...

Post by Elven on Mon Aug 31, 2009 5:14 pm

So far asked questions:

ThaSlayerb: Does anyone know how to add a minimap with different boundaries? I tried doing Challengetrial2_Blue, and Challengetrial2_blue , and Challengetrial2_BLUE... They all don't work!
Answere: This method doesn't work. Only way is to make normal name_art file. It gonna cut new boundaries by himself. Even thought is sucks...

Norzaaa: I need to find structure, what i can capture with engineer!
Answere: You need to test yourself. But there aren't many structures thought.

ThaSlayerb: Can I with my map, delete the map.xml and overrides.xml?
Answere: Yes

Death_Bringer_RH: how do you do specific spots of terrain in WB?
Answere: Use texture or multitexture Brush - they are the 19th and 20th buttons on the taskbar. ^_^

Hot_Fudge: What to do when somebody in clan isn't nice for me?
Elven: Contact me or post here... (proof pl0x xD)

AIR1996: How to ling building capture to unit transfere:
Answere by nanteos:
Nanteos wrote:Name the sputnik 'sputnik1' and the tesla coils 't1' 't2' etc. You can name them differently if you like but this is how I will refer to it as.

Open up the scripts window, and click on new script.

Under the conditions tab, edit the existing condition 'True' and you will see a list of folders. In those folders go Players\Owns\Player Owns Unit.[/25]. Click on Player (the blue underlined word) and select 'This Player' then click on Object (the blue underlined word next to it) and select 'sputnik1'

Now go to the if true tab, edit the existing 'null' and go to Object type\allegiance\Transfer a named object to the control of a player. Set the object to t1, and player to this player. Now click that and click copy, then directly underneath the copy button click on paste, paste it 6 times. Now just edit those so instead of t1 they are t2, t3, t4, t5, and t6.

it should look like this:

*** IF ***
Player '<This Player>' owns Object 'sputnik1'.
*** THEN ***
Object 't1' is transferred to the command of Player '<This Player>'
Object 't2' is transferred to the command of Player '<This Player>'
Object 't3' is transferred to the command of Player '<This Player>'
Object 't4' is transferred to the command of Player '<This Player>'
Object 't5' is transferred to the command of Player '<This Player>'
Object 't6' is transferred to the command of Player '<This Player>'
Object 't7' is transferred to the command of Player '<This Player>'

Question: How to install MOD?
Answere:
i have windows 7.. but it should look something like this:
Computer>Local Disk (c:)>Users>[user name]>My documents> Red Alert 3>Mods
you put the folder into the mods folder... of course, you have to extract it first

to play it, go to you red alert 3 short cut and add -ui at the end of it
like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Red Alert 3\RA3.exe" -ui
then go to the mods tab and select the mod of your choice

Question: What is map.str and what does it do?
Answere by Elven:
Map.STR is importnant for map, because this is partically map text file, what holds ALL texts what is showed in map. It must look like:
Code:
title
"text"
End
Easiest way to create is and open notepad, then type your test inside there. Well, at the beginning it doesn't matter what, then go to file-save as... and change save as type to all files. Now put title map.str and save it into your map folder!

If something is false what i sayed here, or you have question-answere what u want to add or you just want to ask new question what has simple answere, you are free to reply Smile!
